Worship of the feminine has always been a powerful presence in Indian culture. The 9 nights of Navratri are an exploration of the three main forms of the Goddess. Linga Bhairavi unites all three dimensions of the Divine feminine, dimensions that also represent the three basic qualities of existence – rajas, tamas, and satva, symbolically represented as Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. Three days are dedicated to each quality, with the first two qualities emphasizing survival and sustenance, and the third leading one towards the aspiration to go beyond.
Navratri at Isha Yoga Center is a grand celebration with special poojas, classical music and dance concerts, folk performances, Navratri Sadhana for devotees and the spectacular Linga Bhairavi procession and Maha Arati in front of Nandi.
The nine-day period of Navratri will begin on October 17, culminating on the 25 of October in Vijayadashami – a day of victory over darkness.
Each day of Navratri includes the Navratri Pooja, a powerful opportunity to imbibe Devi’s Grace. The Navratri pooja includes an elaborate abhishekam of 11 offerings and a vibrant offering of music and dance thereby creating an explosion of energy with songs extoling Devi at her fullest glory.
Participating in the pooja is particularly beneficial for the overall wellbeing of the family, good health, success, and prosperity. In a sacred ambience, participants are offered tools to connect with Devi to experience her energies.
